The Purdue University-funded study investigates which aspects of people’s lives in rural Kenya are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting mitigation measures, with a focus on the food system; and identification of policies and interventions that could reduce the burden on rural populations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting mitigation measures. The study is undertaken by Kula Vyema Centre, the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT), Purdue University, and University of Illinois Chicago. Data was collected from communities in agricultural zones using phone-based focus group discussions (FGDs) separately for men and women.
